Computer Labs
– SMS has two computer labs. One is an open lab and one is a math lab.
Teachers schedule times to bring their classes to the open lab to work
on Internet research, computer projects, or campus programs. Both labs
are equipped with twenty-four multimedia computers connected to the
district’s wide area network. Both labs run Microsoft Office programs as
well as campus software. Each lab is equipped with a laser printer,
headphones, and a projection device.
Hardware
– Each classroom at
SMS is equipped with at least one multimedia computer connected to the
district’s wide area network. Through the network, each computer has
access to the Internet and district software, and teachers have e-mail
access.
SMS has 17 networked black and
white printers spread through the classrooms, labs, and library. One
networked color laser printer is available in the library for student
and teacher use. Digital cameras are available for teachers to check out
and use in the classroom for student projects. The school also has
several LCD projectors that connect to computers and allow the computer
screen to be projected. Three Mimio Marker boards, which connect to a
computer and allow a basic marker board to become interactive with the
computer, are available to be used in the classrooms or labs. |
