Herman T. Jones Elementary is located on the Prairie View A&M University campus in Prairie View, Texas. JES is one of four Waller ISD elementary schools that serve PreK-fourth grade students with quality educational programs that honor individual learning styles in positive and supportive environments. Among the programs and enrichment opportunities offered are: school-wide Title I reading and math; Writing to Read labs; Boys Town social skills; Reading Renaissance; Discovery Gifted and Talented; inclusion of students with disabilities; Saxon Phonics; Writing/Reading/Math computer lab; Content Mastery; and networked computers throughout each school. WISD elementary campuses also benefit from strong PTO support, active volunteer programs, and after school programs.

History - The building housing Jones Elementary School was once Prairie View Training School . It later became Prairie View Elementary School , then Herman T. Jones Intermediate School, then Herman T. Jones Elementary School.
