employees and school board members gathered on August 14 for its annual
Convocation at WHS. The once a year event brings everyone together to
start off an enthusiastic new school year.

Elementary has a school full of talented teachers but one in particular
will be performing his talents on September 2 at the Houston Comets
game. James Mable, Jr. and his oldest sister Alicia have formed a duo
called Blessed.

All WISD PreK- 12
grade teachers and instructional paraprofessionals attended a two day
staff development conference on August 19 and 20 at WHS. 19 Workshop
topics and 111 sessions were offered lasting 1.5 - 3 hours each session.

New Waller
ISD Teachers were welcomed at several events hosted by WISD and local
area supporters. The New Teacher Induction and WISD Mentor Program were
introduced to teachers with 2 years or less teaching experience on
August 11 where the new teachers learned about the TxBESS Activity
Profile (TAP).

School held its Meet the Teacher Night on August 20. Eager 5th
and 6th graders and their parents visited the school greeted
by staff and PTO members serving fresh popped popcorn at the front door.
