WHS Golf wins Waller Invitational
March 31, Waller High School’s Bulldog golf team competed in the Waller Invitational. The Maroon team of Bradley Arnold, Jordan Westbrook, Jake Toman, Ryan Phelan, and Clayton Kiesling shot a 328 to win the tournament. Arnold won the medalist competition by shooting a 78. Westbrook finished in second place by shooting 80. Toman finished in a three way tie for third by shooting 82. Members of the WHS white team; Garrett Boshears, Derek Standefer, and Kyle Fajkus; also contributed with Boshears shooting 84. 

WHS golf competes at Sweetwater
Waller High School’s varsity boys golf team competed in the Fort Bend Clements tournament at Sweetwater Country Club on Feb. 25. The Bulldogs finished seventh out of 25 teams with a score of 343. Jordan Westbrook led the Bulldogs by shooting an 80. He finished eleventh out of 141 golfers. Bradley Arnold and Jake Toman finished tied for 36th; they both shot 86. Ryan Phelan finished tied for 69th, and Clayton Kiesling finished tied for 91st.  The Bulldogs did a great job of competing on a tough course in equally tough conditions. The next tournament will be March 10 at Brock Park.

WHS Golf Update
Feb. 12 Waller High School’s (WHS) maroon golf team of Bradley Arnold, Jordan Westbrook, Jake Toman, Ryan Phelan, and Clayton Kiesling participated in the Klein JV Invitational golf tournament. There were 36 total teams and two divisions. The maroon team tied for first place in the Red Division, but lost a playoff to finish in second place. Arnold was the first place medalist shooting an 82. Toman and Phelan tied for sixth; each shot an 85.
     Feb. 19, the team won the Waller Invitational posting a season best 315 team score. Arnold was the first place medalist shooting a 76. Phelan tied for third with a 78, but lost a scorecard playoff. Westbrook followed closely behind with a 79. The WHS white team of Dillon Kersh, Garrett Boshears, Derek Standefer and Kyle Fajkus finished in third; and the Waller JV team of Matt Krekowski, Bret Morace, Dustin Yanchak, and Scott Muchow finished in fourth. The WHS girls; Laura Martinez, Amy Lockwood, and Shelby Sheffield; finished in a tie for fourth.

WHS boys’ golf teams compete in Tomball Invitational
Jan. 28, the Waller High School (WHS) boys’ golf teams competed in the Tomball Invitational Tournament at Tomball Country Club. The maroon team; consisting of Bradley Arnold, Jake Toman, Jordan Westbrook, and Clayton Kiesling; finished in third place. The white team; consisting of Dillon Kersh, Kyle Fajkus, Derek Standefer, and Garret Boshears; finished in fourth place. Shooting a score of 80, Arnold finished as the third high individual medalist. The teams’ next tournament will be Feb. 13 at Glenloch Farms.
