Thompson named Waller ISD Elementary Math Coordinator

WALLER ISD – Susan Thompson, who was previously an Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Katy High School in Katy ISD, has been named the Elementary Math Coordinator for Waller ISD (WISD). Thompson comes to WISD with 32 years of experience in the field of education; 16 years in the classroom at elementary, middle, and junior high levels; and 16 years in different levels of administration including Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, Senior Specialist at Region IV ESC, and nationwide independent consultant.
     Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University, a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration from University of Texas at Tyler, and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University.
     In her educational experience, her responsibilities have included developing collaborative teams, consensus building, conflict resolution, facilitating groups and processes, instructional leadership training, professional development and appraisal system training, site-based decision making, continuous improvement processes, and a variety of other instructional leadership topics.
     Thompson resides in Houston and is the mother of one son.
