Tucker appointed to Waller ISD Board of Trustees

During the regular meeting of Waller ISD’s Board of Trustees June 9, the Board regrettably accepted the resignation of trustee Paul Wood who was elected mayor of the city of Waller on May 10, 2008. Wood has served as a member of the Board since 1998 and is an honored past president. He will be greatly missed.
Upon resignation of a member, the Board may fill the subsequent vacancy by appointment until the next regular Board election which will be held in May 2009. The Board appointed long time community member Louis Tucker who took his oath of office thereafter.
Tucker’s family has owned property in Waller County since the early 1960s. He is an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waller where he serves as vice-president of the church council as wells as chairman of the youth committee.
Mr. Tucker has worked for his family’s business, Mustang Tractor and Equipment Company (Mustang Cat), since age 14. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Personnel Management from Southern Methodist University, he began working fulltime for the company, served 22 years as president, and now serves at the Chairman of the Board.
Tucker is also an active participant on the Board of Holly Hall Christian Retirement Community and in renovation projects for the Mustang Golf Course/Clubhouse.
Waller ISD faculty and staff would like to warmly welcome Mr. Louis Tucker to the Board of Trustees.
