WISD Board Recognizes 13 Retirees
The Waller ISD
Board of Trustees recognized13 retirees – Susan Brooks, Lenora Cermin,
Alice Chapman, Carolyn Cuellar, Joe Cunningham, Ann Nelson, Richard
Nelson, Carolyn Plemper, Edna Mae Price, Mary Roberts, Mildred Smith, Bob
Smith, and Sandy Stelter – at their regular board meeting June 12. Three
of the retirees (M. Smith, B. Smith, and Stelter) had over 30 years of
service to Waller ISD, and four (Brooks, Chapman, Plemper, and Roberts)
had over 20 years of service to Waller ISD. Between the 13 retirees there
were 268 total years of service to Waller ISD. They were given Seiko wall
clocks and sliver trays in honor of their retirement.
The Board also approved the final version of the Drug-Testing Policy
and the 2006-2007 school calendar; both can be found on WISD’s web site
(www.wallerisd.net).
In action items, newly elected Board members; Robert Carvell, David
Kaminski, and Robert “Bo” Pierce; took their oath of office from Waller
County Judge Owen Ralston. The Board also approved a demographic study
proposal given by Dr. Pat Guseman of Population
and Survey Analysts (PASA).
In re-organization of the Board, Carvell was re-elected
President; Dr. David Kirkpatrick was re-elected Vice President; and Pierce
was re-elected Secretary.
In other business, the Board received a 2004 Bond and Construction
Report from WISD Maintenance Director, Ray Stelter. The construction is
approximately 98 percent complete and under budget. Important dates noted
