WJH back-to-back “UIL
Academic Champions”
Waller Junior High (WJH) was
crowned BACK-TO-BACK district UIL Academic Champions following
competition held in two parts Feb. 4, Feb. 9, and April 2. The
championship was a culmination of success by many at WJH and was
coordinated by Lynna Berry.
WJH competed against tough competition from
Magnolia, Bear Branch, Brenham, Lynn Lucas,
Brabham, and Montgomery Junior High Schools, but was the undisputed
winner as the seventh grade scored 269 points, its closest competitor
(Montgomery) was 38 points behind; the eighth grade scored 233 points,
its closest competitor (Magnolia) was 17 points behind.
