Waller HS UIL One-Act Play “Quilters” advances to District

Waller High School’s Box of Stars Theatre company presented “Quilters;” a story about the hardships and struggles faced pioneers who settled the west, and how they told their stories through quilts; at UIL Zone One-Act Play competition March 19. The troupe advanced to District competition March 27 where they were named Area Alternate.
     “Quilters” received several individual awards at Zone competition including: Best Technical Crew (Zach Cook, Max Corral, Emily Poore, and Isabel Casillas), Best Individual Technician Zach Cook, Best Actress Chelsea Stanley, All Star Cast Traelon Adair and Barry Jackson, and Honorable Mention All Star Cast Shelbie Watts.
     At District competition, Traelon Adair and Shaela Stautmeister were named All Star Cast and Shelbie Watts and Amanda Parmer were named Honorable Mention All Star Cast.
      The cast and crew also included: Dean Guerra, Austin Cooke, Trey Stautmeister, Mary Toney, Ashley Zientek, Paul Fritzsching, Amber Fritzsching, and Anna Martinez.
