announces sponsorship of Summer Food Service Program
Waller ISD
recently announced sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP),
offered by the Texas Department of Human Services. SFSP provides nutritious
meals to children in Texas during the summer when schools are generally
closed and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program are not in
operation.
Any child from 1 – 18 years of age is eligible to receive breakfast and
lunch at no cost. Persons 19 and above who have been determined to be
mentally or physically disabled by a state or local agency, may also be
served a meal. The SFSP program will be located at the Schultz Middle School
cafeteria on June 9-June 27, 2008. Breakfast is from 7:00am to 8:30am and
lunch is from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Any
group of children can be designated as a feeding site. If you would like
your location to be a feeding site, please contact Whitney Johnson or
Stephanie Dalton in the WISD Food Service Department central office at
936.931.2347.
