in big matches, Waller High School senior wrestling team captain Whitney
Disotelle runs her famous armbar on Klein Oak’s Laura Ponshock in their 138
lb. Regional Final Feb. 9. Disotelle won her second consecutive regional
title with her school record 112th pin. |

takes silver in Region III, advances to State.
Waller High School
sophomore wrestler Shelby Fellers surprised the 148 lb. field with her pin
of Brazoswood’s Joanie Cortez to earn a spot in the Regional finals against
district rival Kathleen Farmer Feb. 9. Fellers took silver to earn her first
trip to the state tournament. |
Bates
takes fourth in Region III, advances to State.
Waller High School
senior wrestler Courtney Bates controls Cy-Fair’s 165 lb. Ginger Lanza with
an underhook. Bates earned fourth place in a tough field Feb. 9 and
qualified for her second state tournament in as many years. |

Girls Wrestling wins Region III, all advance to State.
One of the most
successful athletic teams in Waller High School history, the girls wrestling
team, adds the UIL Region III Championship trophy to an already full
showcase. All six regional qualifiers earned births in the state tournament
to be held at Austin ISD’s DELCO center Feb. 22-23. |
