Special Olympians win at Winter Games.
WISD Special Olympians (L-R) Matthew Johnson, Cody Parker, and Adam Draper
all won awards in the bowling competition of the Special Olympics Texas
Winter Games on Friday, February 3 in Houston. Parker, competing against
five other bowlers, had a three-game average of 115 to win the Gold Medal.
Johnson, competing against five other bowlers, had a three-game average of
112 to earn the Silver Medal. Draper, competing against five other
bowlers, had a three-game average of 79 to earn a Fourth Place ribbon.
More than 3,000
athletes from across the Lone Star State participated in the Winter Games
in bowling, figure skating, powerlifting, table tennis, and volleyball.
