Waller ISD Student Crowned Miss Texas
Shelbie
Thomson, former Roberts Road Elementary student and future 4th
grade student at the new Evelyn Turlington Elementary in the
fall, was crowned 2009 National American Miss South Texas
Jr. Pre Teen Queen on June 27th at the Hilton
North Hotel in Houston. In addition to winning the Queen’s
title, Shelbie won the optional actress competition and
placed in the top five in the talent, photogenic, and casual
wear modeling competitions.
Shelbie’s
crowning will advance her to represent Texas at the National
Pageant in Anaheim, California in late November. Shelbie’s
reigning of Miss Texas will bring her appearances with local
sports teams, and be a guest of honor in parades and at the
State Fair. Prior to winning her title, Shelbie was Tiny
Miss Tomball in 2004, National American Miss Princess Queen
for Texas in 2005, and American Coed Princess Queen in
2006. Other than her love for pageants and fashion, the 9
year old also enjoys gymnastics, volleyball and swimming.
Shelbie’s love of attending school and her academic success
is fostering an aspiration to become a teacher. Shelbie
wants to attend Texas A&M University some day.
National
American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating
America’s greatness and encouraging its future leaders.
Each year, the National American Miss Pageants awards 1.5
million dollars in cash, scholarships, and prizes to
recognize and assist the development of young women
nationwide. National American Miss is dedicated to
developing the success of young women across our nation with
a program that is designed to be age-appropriate and
family-oriented.
Shelbie
will make a guest appearance at the Waller ISD Stadium Grand
Opening on August 28, 2009. Come see Shelbie and join the
community to support the Waller High School Bulldogs as they
play against the LaMarque Cougars in the first football game
of the 2009 season. The Waller ISD Stadium Grand Opening
will be fun-for-all event for the entire community! For
