Waller ISD Schools Receive History about Waller County

Lynwood Peterson, Waller High School graduate Class of 1952 and member of the Waller County Historical Society, stopped by the Waller ISD Administration Building to deliver copies of the book “Forgotten Places of Waller County”, written by author Clarence Mille. Two copies of the historical book were delivered to each school principal to add to their school library book collection.

The Waller County Historical Society mission is to protect the Waller County History and to keep the history alive.  Pictured is Mr. Peterson holding up a copy of the book standing next to the original Waller School Bell that is displayed inside the Waller ISD Administration Building.  The school bell occupied three Waller ISD schools since 1887 and was refurbished for the Waller School Project 2000.  The Waller County Historical Commission received a Distinguished Service Award in 1999 to honor the preservation of the school bell history.  The award emblem is mounted on the front of the antique bell platform.   If you are interested in Waller County history, contact the Waller County Historical Society by calling 281.934.2826 or by visiting www.wlrctyhistsoc.org.
