Waller ISD Achieves Milestone with 2009 TEA
Accountability Ratings
A Waller Independent School District (Waller
ISD) top priority is the success of each of
our students. Superintendent Richard
McReavy announced the 2009 Texas Education
Agency Accountability Ratings that were
released on July 31. Waller ISD received an
“Academically Acceptable” school district
accountability rating with over
71%
of our schools rated either “Exemplary” or
“Recognized”. Waller ISD received
“Exemplary” on 17 out of 25 indicators,
“Recognized” on 7 of the 25 indicators, and
“Academically Acceptable” on 1 of the 25
indicators. These are the highest scores in
Waller ISD’s history!
Three (3) Waller ISD elementary schools were
rated “Exemplary”: H.T. Jones Elementary;
Roberts Road Elementary and Fields Store
Elementary. Two (2) Waller ISD schools were
rated “Recognized”: Wayne C. Schultz Middle
School and I.T. Holleman Elementary. Two
(2) Waller ISD campuses were rated
“Academically Acceptable”: Waller Junior
High and Waller High School. Waller Jr.
High School and Waller High School were “on
the bubble” of a “Recognized” school
accountability rating.
McReavy said, “Waller ISD will continue to
aim for excellence by aiming to be a
“Recognized” school district, and for every
campus to be rated “Recognized” or
“Exemplary”. Waller ISD wants every child
to be successful, and we will continue to
perform higher each year. We could have not
achieved this tremendous milestone without
our excellent schools, teachers, community
members and parents, and our students.” For
