Calling All Bulldog Fans to the Waller ISD Stadium Grand Opening!
CALLING ALL PAST,
PRESENT, and FUTURE WALLER ISD BULLDOG FANS!!! The new Waller ISD
Stadium Grand Opening is fast approaching! On Friday, August 28, 2009,
the Waller ISD community will be celebrating the new stadium grand
opening at the first 2009 football game of the season, Waller High
School vs. LaMarque Cougars.
Come join in the fun
and start out the day by setting up a “Maroon Out - Do It Yourself
Tailgating Party”. The Home Side parking lot will be open to the public
to set up their tailgating spot at 9:00 a.m. on grand opening day
(alcohol and tobacco
prohibited). The stadium tailgating party will begin at
5:00 p.m. to the sounds of the DJ music playing by the dance floor. A
sausage-on-a-stick will be served to the first 1,000 visitors along with
free ice cream, cotton candy, cokes, and cake. Moonwalks, police cars
and fire truck tours will be open for the kiddos. Fans will have the
opportunity to take photos with the school mascot and meet Miss Texas
USA, Brooke Daniels; Miss Waller County & Miss Junior Texas, Jenna Wade;
and 2009 National American Miss South Texas Jr. Pre Teen Queen, Shelbie
Thomson. T-shirts and spirit items will be on sale to help spread
around the Waller ISD bulldog spirit. Alumni will gather in a reserved
area. All ticket buyers will receive a commemorative ticket. Each Waller
ISD student will receive a FREE general admission ticket.
Several exciting
events will occur during grand opening night! The Waller High School
Band will start off the processional march from Waller High School to
the new stadium. A tribute to service members and a memorial dedication
for fallen Waller ISD heroes will take place prior to the game. A game
ball relay run will occur by the Waller High School Cross Country Team
running the game ball from the old stadium to the new. Special Guest,
Congressman Michael McCaul, will perform the pre-game coin toss.
Football kick-off time begins at 7:30 p.m. At half time, a stadium
dedication ribbon cutting ceremony will be held. Several special guest
appearances and band performances will be part of the half time
entertainment. The entertaining evening will close with a post-game
fireworks display for all of the bulldog fans to enjoy. Bring the
entire family to share in the Waller ISD sweet memories! Come join the
entire Waller ISD community to celebrate the Waller ISD Stadium Grand
Opening!
