Waller ISD HLSR Artwork Results

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo judges visited Waller
High School on January 20 to judge approximately 300
artwork masterpieces created by Waller ISD students.
Students from 6 of the 7 Waller ISD campuses
participated in the competition.
Best
of Show Winner at the High School level was awarded to
Sarah Mellott. Gold Medal Winners at the High School
Level were Scott McLeod and Jennifer Mendez. Both High
School Best of Show and Gold Medal Winners artwork
pieces were colored with Prismacolors. Christopher
Willkerson won Best of Show at the Jr. High Level for
his pencil drawing. Best of Show Winner at the
Elementary Level went to Kyle Armstrong. Gold Medal at
the Elementary Level went to Chandler Crawford. Both
Elementary art pieces were colored with crayons.
High
School Finalists were Dylan Greene and Derek Standefer.
High School Blue Ribbon winners (1st place)
were Carly Newkirk, Bradley Breaux, Jesus Madriz, Mandy
Hegemeyer, Kristina Ramirez, Jesse Lopez, Hazzel
Monterroza, Aabram Acosta, and Mahdi Agha. High School
Red Ribbon Winners (2nd place) were Sokhun
Seng, Garrett Pitchford, Adam Ayala, Alyssa Robertson,
Parker Edmonds, Lisa Burchardt, Travis Ratcliffe, Victor
Cortes, Gabriel Amador, April Zientek, Jesus Gonzales,
Chris Perry, Janeth Hernandez, Christian Castro, Tyler
Bain, Victor Guerrero, Eshakela Stevens, Crystal Lang,
Brittany Cahill, Mark Scott, and Miguel Morales. High
School White Ribbons (3rd place) went to
Rozlynn Stewart, Melissa Boyd, David Wager, William
Stewart, and Dylan Froman.
The
Best of Show and Gold Medal Winners artwork will be on
display at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where
they will compete against thousands of other art pieces
from school districts around the state. All Seniors who
entered a piece of artwork are eligible to apply for
scholarships. The Best of Show and Gold Medal Winners
were given scholarship application packets to the
Glassel School of Art and Western Art Academy for summer
workshops. The High School Finalists and Blue Ribbon
Winners artwork are on display in the Waller High School
foyer throughout the month of February.
