Wal-Mart Cypress Donates To Waller ISD Schools
Despite
the economic downturn, Wal-Mart Superstore in Cypress
continues to help the community by donating money to local
schools. Wal-Mart Superstore in Cypress announced that it
will donate a check of $1,000 to each of Waller ISD schools
at the March 9th School Board Meeting. Dominic
Ortiz, Store Manager, says, “We want to continue to help the
community and students in any way we can.”
Wal-Mart
Cypress has been a generous supporting partner of Waller ISD
for several years. Last summer, Wal-Mart Cypress employees
organized a fun-filled “Back to School” picnic for residents
at Boys & Girls Country. The Wal-Mart employees teamed up
together and cooked hamburgers, hotdogs, and organized craft
tables for all to enjoy. At the picnic, Wal-Mart Cypress
provided new back-packs for each student along with a
complete set of grade-level school supplies.
Ortiz
says, “Our store and employees are continually serving the
community. Wal-Mart utilizes grant funds for donations to
help the students in the community. We may not be able to
donate funds all the time but our staff is always raising
money for charity. It may be by selling breakfast tacos or
volunteering their personal time, but it is always for a
good cause.”
Waller ISD
thanks Wal-Mart for their generous support and continuous
partnership.
