WISD Students Winners at Special Olympics!

Congratulations to our outstanding students that participated in the Texas Special Olympic Games in Arlington, Texas on May 21-24!  A preliminary opening was held Friday night where each team displayed their banner and was introduced to the crowd. Students participated in various competitions and medals and ribbons were awarded to the top finishers. 

Congratulations to Arturo Ramirez: Placed 6th in softball throw, 5th in 50 meter dash; Jose Ramirez placed 3rd in softball throw, 2nd in 50 meter dash; Arian Copeland placed 8th in softball throw, 8th in 50 meter dash; Andy Beltran placed 1st in softball, 5th in 50 meter dash.

Special thanks to the team supporters, John Pelot, Head Coach, Amanda Sandlin, Asst. Coach, Scott Sandlin, Volunteer Coach, and Officer Chavez, a local supporter who attended the opening ceremony to support the team.

Congratulations Waller ISD Team for making us “Waller Proud”!
