Waller ISD Recognizes City Mayor Paul Wood
WALLER ISD- On the September 8th
Regular Called Board Meeting, Paul Wood was
recognized for his decade of devotion as Waller
ISD School Board Trustee. Paul served on the
Waller ISD School Board from 1998-2008 prior to
becoming the City of Waller Mayor. He held
several trustee positions during his ten years
of loyal service such as Board President in
2003-2005, Vice President in 2002-2003, and
Secretary in 2001-2002. The several years of
School Board Trustee dedication required wearing
many hats and a great amount of personal time
commitment. Paul attended countless Board
Meetings and school functions. He spent
numerous hours developing and maintaining a
first-rate school district that focused on
student achievement, staff welfare, and
community involvement. His active involvement
as a School Board Trustee included establishing
the district’s educational goals, direction and
policies, approving the annual budget, setting
tax rates, authorizing elections and bond
proposals, and limitless other functions.
WISD Superintendent Richard McReavy said
“It has been an honor to work with Paul Wood.
His years of dedication and service are
immeasurable and we appreciate his continual
support. His superior work is reflected when
you look at the successes of our school
district.”
Paul is a native to Waller, a Waller High
School graduate, and a farmer and rancher. He
and his wife Mary are proud parents of three
children, all of whom are graduates of Waller
ISD.
