WISD Receives an Overflow of TEA Gold Performance
Acknowledgements
WISD-Texas Education Agency released its 2008 Gold
Performance Acknowledgements (GPA) last week announcing
that Waller ISD received many GPA’s in 6 of its 7
schools. The GPA system acknowledges districts and
campuses for high performance on statue indicators from
Texas Education Code or those determined by the
Commissioner of Education other than those used for
accountability ratings.
Fields Store Elementary received 3 Gold Performance
Acknowledgements for Commended Performance in
Mathematics, Writing, and Comparable Improvement in
Mathematics. I.T. Holleman Elementary School received a
GPA for Comparable Improvement in Mathematics. H.T.
Jones Elementary received 4 GPA’s Commended Performance
in Reading and Mathematics, Comparable Improvement in
Reading and Mathematics. Roberts Road Elementary earned
a GPA Commended Performance in Writing. Waller Jr. High
received 3 GPA’s for Commended Performance in Reading,
Writing, and Social Studies. Waller High School
received a Commended Performance GPA in Social Studies.
Waller ISD has received several recognitions from both
State and Federal levels since the start of the school
year. The school district celebrated the “Recognized”
TEA rating for 5 of its 7 schools and all of the schools
met the Federal Adequate Yearly Progress Standard. For
