Waller
ISD Marks Another Milestone with Football Stadium Groundbreaking
WISD-
Waller ISD (WISD) marked another milestone by celebrating a
groundbreaking event to kick-off the construction of a new
football stadium. WISD Board of Trustees, administrators,
employees, supporters, and community members joined together for
the special groundbreaking event on October 6. Richard McReavy,
Waller ISD Superintendent, opened the ceremony with a genuine
welcome saying “We have come a long way, today is a historic
day! Thanks to your support we are able to provide this facility
that will serve the Waller ISD students and community for many
decades to come.”
Superintendent McReavy presented glass-cased Waller ISD bulldog
footballs to Robert “Bo” Pierce, WISD Board President, Pat
Mizzell, Vinson & Elkins Attorney, Waller High School Principal,
Kelly Baehren, and Jason Morley, WISD Athletic Director. McReavy
also honored SHW, the project architects, and Stewart Builders,
the stadium contractors.
President Pierce spoke to the groundbreaking attendees thanking
them for their continuous support in helping pass the bond
issue. Pierce said, “The
new stadium will serve as source of pride in the past, present
and most importantly the future accomplishments of the WISD
Administration, Staff, Students and Community.” A
construction hard hat and football were passed around for all
attendees to sign. The memorabilia will be showcased at the
WISD Administration Building.
The
ceremony was held at the construction site near the corner of
Stokes Road and Waller Spring Creek Road on a beautiful, sunset
evening. The day was a blissful commemoration for the Waller ISD
supporters.
The new
stadium is one of three main Waller ISD bond construction
projects funded by the passing of the 2007 bond issue. The New
Elementary #5, Wayne C. Schultz Middle School renovations, and
the new football stadium are all scheduled to be completed in
Fall of 2009. Visit
