Waller ISD District-Site
Based Decision Making
Committee Meeting Recommends
Calendar
WISD - Waller ISD held a
District-Site Based Decision
Making Committee Meeting on
Wednesday, February 4, in
the Waller ISD
Administration Building.
Richard McReavy, Waller ISD
Superintendent, started off
the meeting by giving a
Superintendent’s Update to
the attendees. McReavy
provided a bond construction
progress report overview and
encouraged the crowd to
drive by the new stadium,
Turlington Elementary, and
Wayne C. Schultz Middle
School sites to see the
development of each project.
Danny Twardowski, Asst.
Superintendent for
Administration, discussed
the 2009-2010 Waller ISD
Calendar survey results.
Twardowski explained the
calendar development process
and compared its
similarities to the current
school year calendar. The
earliest legislation allows
school districts to begin
the 2009-2010 school year is
August 24, 2009.
The committee, who comprise
of parents, employees, and
community members, voted
unanimously in favor of the
proposed 2009-2010 Waller
ISD School Calendar. The
recommended calendar was
proposed to the Waller ISD
School Board at the February
9, 2009 school board
meeting. The recommended
calendar was board approved
and can be viewed at
