Night
WISD-Waller
Independent
School District
(WISD) Board of
Trustees and
Administration
honored all of
WISD Elementary
Schools and
Middle School
for earning a
Texas Education
Agency (TEA)
rating of
“Recognized” for
their
performance on
the 2007-2008
TAKS tests taken
last April. Each
of the
“Recognized”
schools gathered
on the football
field at half
time to be
honored. Each
School Principal
was awarded a
plaque as each
campuses staff
and onlookers
cheered. Fields
Store Elementary
has earned a
“Recognized”
rating from TEA
for four of the
last five years,
I.T. Holleman
Elementary for
seven of the
past ten years,
H.T. Jones
Elementary seven
consecutive
years, Roberts
Road Elementary
has earned
“Recognized” or
“Exemplary” for
the past ten
consecutive
years, and Wayne
C. Schultz
Middle School
earned
“Recognized” for
the first time
in its history.
Also recognized
were all the
schools,
including Waller
Jr. High and
Waller High
School, for
successfully
meeting the
Federal Adequate
Yearly Progress
(AYP) Standard.
Of the 54 school
districts in
Region IV,
Waller ISD is 1
of 15 to make
AYP in all of
it’s schools.
The Harris
County Sheriff’s
Department
School Resource
Officers were
also honored for
helping WISD be
named the safest
school district
in Harris County
for nine
consecutive
years. Harris
County Sheriff’s
Deputies have
been in
partnership with
WISD for ten
years working as
School Resource
Officers
patrolling the
school district
campuses. Each
deputy was given
a gift card
thanking them
for their
services for
providing WISD a
safe learning
environment for
the students,
staff and
community.
Senior
Night was also
held before the
October 17th
Varsity Football
Game. Each
senior and their
parents walked
out on the
football field
and were honored
for their
participation in
school
activities.
