WISD Board Meets in September Regular Called
Meeting
WALLER ISD – During the regular meeting of the
Waller ISD Board of Trustees held September 8,
the Board meeting recognitions opened up with
I.T. Holleman Music Teacher James Mable, Jr. and
his sister, Alicia, singing the National
Anthem. “Blessed” has performed the National
Anthem at several Houston Comets games. The
Board recognized the Waller High School Summer
Graduates and held a graduation ceremony that
included receiving their diploma, a class flower
and a souvenir Class of 2008 Coca-Cola bottle.
Students that participated in the Kid’s Day at
Hewlett-Packard event last May were also
recognized. The Schultz Middle School and
Waller Jr. High students demonstrated the robots
they built and programmed. The Board recognized
City of Waller Mayor Paul Wood for his ten years
of dedicated service he gave sitting on the WISD
Board of Trustees. Mr. Wood received an
Elementary #5 Groundbreaking Shovel and a
honorary plaque for his years of service.
The consent agenda items consisted
of resignations, employment, leaves of absence,
disbursements, budget change requests, tax
refunds, minutes of previous months meeting,
staffing requests, out-of district transfer
requests, and purchase and repair of field house
lockers. The motion carried unanimously as
presented.
Regular agenda items included the acceptance of
a resolution expressing intent to finance
expenditures to be incurred and approval of the
stadium pricing.
In information items, the Board heard a Waller
ISD Progress Review from Greg Bullard with
Stewart Builders, Dwayne Trahan, and Sam Savage
with SHW Group.
