WISD Board Meets in December Regular Session
WALLER ISD
– During the regular meeting of the Waller ISD Board of
Trustees held December 8, the Board recognized Bill
Glasscock, Area Superintendent from ETC Katy Pipeline, for
making a donation to Waller High School. Also recognized
were Waller High School 18-4A All-District Volleyball
Honors, and WHS Seniors and 2008-2009 Homecoming Queen and
King, Erica Lozano and Josue Rodriguez. Waller ISD
Superintendent, Richard McReavy, also recognized Waller ISD
Board of Trustee, Louis Tucker, for being selected to
Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Board of Directors.
Mr. Tucker will represent all Independent School Districts
in the H-GAC region.
The
consent agenda considerations included the 2008-2009 Tax
Role, the 2009 Law Enforcement Agreement renewal with Harris
County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson & Horton LLP legal
services engagement, Waller ISD Internet connection
agreement, and consideration of Waller High School’s
2009-2010 New Courses in Health/PE - Sports Medicine and in
English – Dual Credit Humanities Courses.
Regular agenda items included the 2007-2008 Audit
Report from Mike Marcus, Waller ISD Asst. Superintendent for
Business and Finance, and Trey Moses, CPA from John R.
Pechacek CPA office. Moses opening remark was “the Waller
ISD staff does an outstanding job and it starts at the top.”
Waller ISD received its Superior Financial Rating for the
seventh consecutive year from First Financial Integrity

In
information items, the Board heard a Waller ISD Progress
Review on all three main bond construction projects from Sam
Savage, SHW Group. Waller ISD Superintendent, Richard
McReavy, discussed the Texas Education Agency 2008-2009 Out
of District Transfer Compliance Report and Analysis and its
effects on Waller ISD and surrounding districts when
students transfer in and out of school districts. He also
provided the a Superintendent Student Advisory Report and
Vantage Points Board Member’s Guide to Update 84 for review.
Maurice Hart, Mayor pro tem, briefly discussed the Waller
County Sub-Regional Planning Commission and asked if Board
Members would be interested in representing the planning
commission.
Future Board items include Hewlett-Packard final
agreement, School Board Recognition in January, Waller ISD’s
AEIS Report and public meeting in January, Superintendent
Evaluation and Contract, and to discuss Alternative Fuels in
Waller ISD.

dates noted were: December 16 – Special Called Board
Meeting, December 22- January 5 – Christmas Holiday, January
5 – Teacher Work Day/Student Holiday and Convocation,
