Waller ISD Board Approves 2008-2009 Tax
Rate
WALLER ISD-During a Special Called Board
Meeting on September 24, 2008, the
Waller ISD Board of Trustees voted
unanimously to approve 2008-2009 Tax
Rate as presented by Mike Marcus,
Assistant Superintendent for Finance.
The Maintenance & Operations (M&O) rate
of $1.04 and Interest & Sinking Fund
(I&S) rate of $.38, totaling $1.42, was
approved unanimously by the Board of
Trustees. The 2008-2009 Tax Rate is
$.02 lower than projected in the bond
issue. More 2008-2009 Tax Rate

Other Regular Agenda items presented
were consideration of applications for
missed instructional days due to
Hurricane Ike, low attendance day, and a
hurricane recovery policy. Waller ISD
will not have to use the Foul Weather
Make-Up Days listed on the 2008-2009
District Calendar to make-up for the two
(2) missed instructional days due to the
hurricane. The 2008-2009 Calendar
remains unmodified. All Regular Agenda
items were unanimously approved by the
Board.
Ray Stelter, Waller ISD Maintenance
Director, presented a Waller ISD
hurricane damage report to the Board.
Waller ISD suffered minimal damage
overall. Mr. Stelter reported that most
of the hurricane damages have been
repaired by Waller ISD Maintenance
Department and that contractors are
scheduled to repair the larger damages.
The instructional day has not been
affected by the hurricane damages and
all of Waller ISD students and staff are
learning and working in a safe,
comfortable environment.
