Hurricane
Ike Causes Minimal Damage to Waller ISD
Waller ISD reopened its offices and schools
on Tuesday, September 16. Fortunately, the
school district suffered minimal damage and
was able to open its doors to welcome back
the employees and students into a secure,
calm environment. Waller ISD had the
necessities that many in the area lost to
the storm; electricity, air conditioning,
water, food, and ample fuel for school
buses.
“Many of the school district employees and
students’ families suffered extensive damage
from Hurricane Ike. All returned to Waller
ISD after the disaster in a positive manner
and made the most out of difficult
circumstances. We will continue to help our
students and employees in need and keep them
in our prayers.” said Superintendent Richard
McReavy.
Waller ISD will not have to make up the two
missed instructional days by using the two
Foul Weather Make-Up Days listed on the
2008-2009 District Calendar. The calendar
remains unmodified and the school year will
continue as originally planned.
