Board

recognitions
opened

Cherith

WHS
Choir
Teacher,
introducing
WHS
Junior,
Lauren
Yost.
Lauren
advances
to
the
Region
27
Pre-Area
Choir
Competition
on
December
4th.
Lauren
ranked
11th
of
49
in
the
Alto
1
Zone
and
placed
3rd
out
of
55
in
the
2nd
tier
competition.
WISD
Superintendent,
Richard
McReavy,
also
announced
Waller
ISD’s
overflow
of
2008
TEA
Gold
Performance
Acknowledgements.
Superintendent
McReavy
announced
Waller
ISD’s
Commended
Performance
in
Writing
and
Social
Studies
and
recognized
each
school
principal
for
their
school’s
Commended
and
Comparable
Improvement
accomplishments.
Mike
Marcus,
Asst.
Superintendent
of
Business
and
Finance,
announced
the
Superior
Achievement
Rating
from
the
First
Financial
Integrity
Rating
System
of
Texas
for
2006-2007.
Superior
Achievement
rating
scale
ranges
from
75-85
points
and
Waller
ISD
scored
an
84.
This
is
the
6th
consecutive
year
that
Waller
ISD
has
scored
a
Superior
Achievement
rating.
The
Consent
Agenda
consisted
of
resignations,
employment,
leaves
of
absence,
disbursements,
budget
change
requests,
tax
refunds,
minutes
of
previous
months
meeting,
staffing
requests,
network
connectivity
for
Evelyn
Turlington
Elementary
and
Roberts
Road
Elementary,
and
the
ERate
Selection
of
new
cellular
provider.
Superintendent
McReavy
and
Board
President,
Bo
Pierce,
thanked
WISD
Technology
Services
Director,
Ted
Jongbloed,
for
the
substantial
savings
the
district
will
incur
with
the
new
network
connectivity
and
new
cellular
provider
plans.

announced
the
Name
the
Waller
ISD
New
Elementary
#5
School
survey
results
by
Shaun
Nelson.
The
new
elementary
will
be
named
after
Evelyn
Turlington.
Mrs.
Turlington
has
been
employed
as a
Waller
ISD
school
teacher
for
over
50
years.
Mindy
Peper,
currently
I.T.
Holleman
Elementary
Asst.
Principal,
was
introduced
as
the
selected
Evelyn
Turlington
Elementary
School
Principal.
