Waller
Junior High serves seventh and eighth grade students with a curriculum
designed for successful student transition into high school. All WJH
students must register for language arts, math, science, social studies, and
electives that include choices in fine arts, foreign language, business,
vocational, wellness, physical education, and athletics. A wide range of
special programs for the gifted as well as for the disabled is also
available. Technology is being integrated into all subject areas at WJH, and
three computer labs facilitate technology literacy for all students in the
school. WJH students also actively participate in U.I.L. academic and
athletic competitions.
An AWS weather station is located on the WJH campus. The station collects
weather-related data which it broadcasts over the internet. KPRC Channel 2
also uses this data for its weather reports. Access live data from WJH at

The building currently housing
Waller Junior High School was constructed in 1969 to serve as Waller High
School. (The site was originally the location of the South Texas Baptist
College which was destroyed by hurricane in 1900.) The building became
Waller Junior High School in 1998.<more
