Herman T. Jones was the
embodiment of values still revered in the field of education today. He
helped not only to mold the minds of his students, but also to develop
the thinking skills that would allow them to understand the world
around them. He often stressed that each child must receive a quality
education which would develop winners, not losers, and which would
provide the opportunity for each child to become all s/he is capable
of becoming.
In 1951, he was asked to
become the principal of the Prairie View Training School. He served in
this capacity until his retirement in 1971.
Herman T. Jones died on
April 3, 1983. He left a positive and lasting influence on those lives
he touched.
