Program Review
- 2009 |
-
Varsity:
"BREAKING NEWS"!!! The Waller baseball Bulldogs advanced to the
State Playoffs for only the 3rd time in school history. After
making a great run in 2008 and missing the playoffs by a game, the
fighting Bulldogs scratched their way through a tough district 18-4A
schedule. Not only was this a huge accomplishment for the
program and the community, but the way in which they did it speaks
volumes for the players and coaching staff having to overcome many
unsuspected obstacles. Once again, a tough non-district
schedule including the annual Marble Falls Tournament trip and the
Lamar Consolidated Tournament, prepared the team for a very tough 18
4A district run.
-
JV/Soph.:
Both sub-varsity squads experienced a season of success and many of
the boys were brought up to get a piece of the "Playoff
experience"

Baseball Facility |
|
As you enter the Waller Baseball Complex,
you can't help but notice the many positive changes in motion.
Behind the efforts of a supportive administrative office, some
dedicated and hard working parents, coaching staff and community
boosters, the baseball complex is now becoming a breeding ground for
developing players and enjoying good fundamental baseball in a
beautiful park Waller is gradually turning into a "Showcase
Complex". Updates include:
* Covered and lighted batting cage facility
* New Roll-A-Way batting cage
* Completion of the new concession/Press-box
* Additional wind screen on fences
* A fresh coat of pain on the entire complex
* Backstop padding
* A manicured playing surface
* Upgrades to the Pitching Bull-pen areas
* New turf surface in batting tunnels with one
inch pad
* Improvements to the #2 Field which is vital to
practice
organization
* First class locker room and coaches office area in
the newly
constructed field house
*Many more to come for the 2010 season!! |

Academics |
-
Out coaching staff is
full of outstanding classroom teachers that understand that
academics comes first. Waller has a unique relationship
between coaches and the entire faculty that is second to none.
They key to keeping up with academic progress is through
communications (student, teacher, coach, parent). We have
grade checks, offer tutoring from our coaching staff and allow for
morning and after school tutoring, as needed. We expect our players
to work just as hard in the classroom as they do for us on the
field, no exceptions

Booster Club |
-
We encourage all parents
to get involved in the Waller Bulldog Booster Club. They have
been a vital part in our school and community volunteers program.
It's a great way to meet other parents and help support our program
both physically and financially as we continue to develop our
Complex and teams into the best in the area. We finish the
year off with our annual Baseball Golf Tournament which is a fun way
for the present, past and future Bulldogs to come together to help
raise money.

Youth Development |
|
We offer a yearly Summer Baseball
Instructional Camp which was attended by over 100 youth league
players last year. We also offer a "Coaches Clinic" to help
develop our youth league coaches and more or less give them them the
exact same teaching tools and techniques that we are using at our
level. This is a great way to create a true "feeder system"
from our youth leagues right on to our High School program. We
post those times and dates of these events during the season as well
as flyers being sent out. DON'T MISS THESE EVENTS. We
want to start working with our future Bulldogs NOW! |
